American Recovery and Reinvestment Act Funding

The ARRA, a federal act signed into law on February 17, 2009, provides $787 billion in tax credits and federal spending for education, health, housing, and infrastructure.

As Commissioner Freeland indicated in his June 25 memo (.DOC), state and community college presidents are required to submit to the Department of Higher Education a detailed spending plan for State Fiscal Stabilization Funds and a signed Statement of Assurances. Commissioner Freeland has set the deadline for this submission as Friday, July 17, 2009.
