STEM Scholar Internship Match program
The STEM Scholar Internship Match Program is no longer accepting 2009–2010 applications, due to a reduction in funding in the Commonwealth's FY2010 budget.
The STEM Scholar Internship Match Program provides financial aid support, through matching funds, to students who have received a corporate scholarship and/or paid internship. The program encourages students to obtain employment in the Massachusetts upon graduation. The Massachusetts Department of Higher Education received $2.5 million in funds from the 2006 Economic Stimulus Bill to establish a Scholar Intern Program.
The STEM Scholar Internship Match Program defines STEM majors as programs designated by the U.S. Department of Education in its Science and Mathematics Access to Retain Talent (SMART) list, exclusive of foreign languages. You may refer to the U.S. Department of Education's SMART list (.PDF) for a complete list of eligible programs.
