Long-Term Disability Insurance

The Commonwealth provides long-term disability insurance for active participants in the Optional Retirement Program. Long-term disability insurance will provide monthly income during periods of disability. Additionally, the plan continues contributions to a participant's retirement account while the participant is receiving monthly income benefits, helping to ensure an adequate retirement income after disability benefits end, typically at age 65.

The single-page highlight sheet (.PDF) provides a synopsis of the disability insurance benefits.

The Certificate of Insurance (.PDF) contains a detailed description of the disability insurance benefits provided under the program.

An Employee Assistance Plan (.PDF) is also included with the long-term disability insurance plan.
