Academic Program Approval: Public Institutions
The Board of Higher Education is responsible for authorizing all programs and degrees in the public system. The Board of Higher Education established procedures that apply to all public institutions of higher education, including the community colleges, state colleges, and the University of Massachusetts.
An academic program is defined as an undergraduate certificate of 30 semester credit hours or more or a major or degree at the undergraduate or graduate levels, including a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study.
The procedures (.DOC) apply to public institutions seeking to add new degree programs as well as public institutions seeking changes to existing programs.
