Introduction
The Board of Higher Education considers education as a continuum from preschool through college graduation (PreK-16). The Board of Higher Education works closely with the Department of Education and Department of Early Education and Care to coordinate policies. Specific PreK-16 responsibilities include:
- co-facilitating the National Governors Association grant;
- administering the $2.5 million STEM Pipeline Fund state grant program;
- administering the Improving Teacher Quality federal grant program; and
- managing the GEAR UP federal grant program.
