Program Review

The Board of Higher Education's Office of Veterans Education reviews programs to ensure consistency in content and quality. These programs must be approved before veterans and other eligible persons may receive educational benefits from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

Internships, cooperative, training, and independent studies receive particular attention. Internal school policies are evaluated to ensure that they conform to regulations relative to:

  • probation;
  • termination;
  • refund systems;
  • progress standards;
  • punitive grading;
  • granting of credit for previous education;
  • attendance; and
  • graduate placement.

The Board of Higher Education then sends its approval to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, which is responsible for the payment of benefits upon receipt of approval.
