Student leadership Conference

The annual student leadership conference is held each spring to provide a forum for students to identify issues of importance regarding campus life and the public higher education experience and to share these issues with leaders in higher education and state government.

Past Conferences

The 2008 conference was held on March 28, 2008, and included a keynote address by U.S. Congresswoman Niki Tsongas and a roundtable discussion with Board of Higher Education Chairman Frederick Clark. In the afternoon, there were special-interest sessions on various student life issues, including business etiquette of networking, conflict resolution, time management, and promoting student leadership through diversity.

The 2007 conference included remarks from Dr. Dana Mohler-Faria, Education Advisor to Governor Patrick, and Senator Robert O’Leary, Co-Chair of the Joint Committee on Higher Education.

 

Please note: As of March 10, 2008, the office of the Massachusetts Board of Higher Education
was renamed the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education. The name change will be integrated into
prior existing website content gradually over the next few months.
