About MassTransfer
MassTransfer is a streamlined policy to simplify the transfer process. The policy was recommended by the Commonwealth Transfer Advisory Group (CTAG) and approved by the Board of Higher Education in June 2008. It was implemented beginning in the 2009-2010 academic year.
MassTransfer provides the following:
- Eligible community college graduates who complete linked associate degree programs will receive the benefits of full transfer: the applicability of credit, guaranteed admission, and a tuition discount.
- Any student in the Massachusetts public higher education who completes a portable general education transfer block will satisfy general education requirements across all public higher education institutions.
About CTAG
In April 2007, the Board of Higher Education established CTAG to recommend improvements to the transfer process at the public higher education institutions. The development of this website, dedicated to providing transfer information, was one of the recommendations made by CTAG in its final report.
