Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) oversees public K-12 education in Massachusetts, including MCAS and career/vocational technical education programs as well as educator licensure. DESE also licenses or registers private, non-degree granting post-secondary occupational schools.
