Meet Herter Scholarship Alumni:
Ta'Nika Gibson

photo of Ta'Nika GibsonHailed by The Boston Globe for her “clear and ringing voice,” Ta’Nika Gibson is a highly versatile young artist, whose unique soprano voice is equally comfortable with opera arias, gospel greats and Broadway musical show-stoppers.

A graduate of classical studies at NYU and at Eastman School of Music, Ta’Nika has recently decided to pursue a career in musical theater, her first love. In 2014, she starred as Aida in Fiddlehead Theater Company’s adaptation of the Elton John and Tim Rice production of Aida at The Strand Theater in Boston.

She was honored to be chosen to sing the national anthem for Michelle Obama and other political dignitaries in 2014 as well. Ta’Nika is excited to be joining the Disney Fantasy Cruise as a mainstage performer in June 2015, performing in The Lion King, The Princess and the Frog, and Aladdin.
