What is Go Higher?

Speakers at Worcester High School

Go Higher! is a campaign by the Department of Higher Education, in partnership with Massachusetts' 29 public colleges and universities, to raise awareness of the growing number of outstanding programs and opportunities available to students at our community colleges, state universities and UMass campuses.

High School Events

Each Go Higher! program brings 5-6 college students into local high schools for a student-to-student exchange about choosing a college and a major, landing internships, and navigating campus life. At some larger high school venues, admissions officers join students to answer questions about degree programs and financial aid options, and promote STEM opportunities through interactive exhibits.

Go Higher! Website

This website serves to promote the Massachusetts public higher education system and educate students, families and guidance counselors about the academic excellence and affordability of public higher education in the Commonwealth. Here you’ll learn more about the 29 campuses, state admissions requirements and systemwide programs like MassTransfer and the Commonwealth Dual Enrollment Partnership.

In addition to creating this website, the Department of Higher Education designed a series of brochures highlighting the top programs, unique programs, signature internships and notable alumni at the 29 campuses. These are distributed at Go Higher! events, and can be ordered online. If you are a guidance counselor who would like to request copies of the brochures for your high school, fill out a request form here.
