Your prior military service is not applicable to the Optional Retirement Program (ORP).
Past military service does not enhance your benefits under the plan, nor is it counted towards either ORP vesting or satisfying the service requirement for eligibility for retiree insurance benefits from the Group Insurance Commission for ORP participants.
However, past military service can be applied under the State Employees’ Retirement System.
