The Commonwealth provides long-term disability and group life insurance for active participants under the Optional Retirement Program. These benefits have been designed to provide survivor benefits and income protection for plan participants; supplementing your retirement account benefits prior to retirement. The premiums for these insurances are paid by the Commonwealth as part of the Employer Plan Contribution.
