MassTransfer Tuition Credit Program

The MassTransfer Tuition Credit Program awards a tuition credit to students who are enrolled in a state college or university who has completed an associate degree at a public community college approved under the MassTransfer program. The credit is valid for the two years of a student's enrollment immediately following their community college enrollment.

Who Is Eligible?

A student enrolled in an undergraduate program at a state university or University of Massachusetts campus who:

• Graduated from a Massachusetts public community college with a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average.
• Participated in the MassTransfer program at the community college, completing the course/degree requirements under an MassTransfer A2B Mapped or A2B Linked agreement.
• Enrolled at the state university or University of Massachusetts campus within one calendar year of graduation from the community college.
• Enrolled in a state-supported baccalaureate program.
• Did not enroll at an institution other than the degree-granting community college before enrolling at the campus selected through MassTransfer.
• Has documentation of Tuition Advantage Program eligibility on file at the receiving institution, including transcripts demonstrating compliance with MassTransfer requirements. For those students completing associate degree requirements in a term where the community college does not confer degrees, a letter from the Registrar or Joint Admissions officer should accompany the other documentation certifying completion of associate degree requirements.

Students will be entitled to the MassTransfer Tuition Credit at a public college or university campus for two years of undergraduate enrollment as long as the following conditions are met:

• Enrollment is continuous.
• The recipient of the tuition credit earns a cumulative 3.0 grade point average for the first year of enrollment at the state college or University of Massachusetts campus. Failure to achieve a cumulative 3.0 grade point average at the end of the first year of matriculation invalidates a student's eligibility to receive the tuition credit for the second year.
• For students demonstrating compelling hardships, institutions may exercise professional judgment regarding the above conditions.
